Futuristic Musings · by James Brown
Your agent will have an agent
By James Brown · Published · Updated
A short speculative fiction about Tuesday mornings in 2035.
Speculative fiction. None of this is a prediction you should trade on.
7:02 AM. Your agent has already negotiated your internet bill down, rescheduled the dentist around your kid's recital, and drafted three replies, held for your approval because you set that rule in 2029 after the Great Calendar Incident.
It flags one thing: your other agent, the one that runs your side business, hired a subcontractor agent overnight to translate your product page into Portuguese. Cost: forty cents. Brazilian orders are up.
You sip coffee. Your job is now mostly taste: deciding what's worth doing and saying no to the rest. Your grandfather managed people. You manage intent.
The funny part? It feels less like science fiction than email felt to him in 1995.
